Using Central Hub
Upon launching central hub you will get a simple selector menu. See screenshot. Starting from the "envelope" icon and going clockwise the six icons can be clicked to:
- Launch email (default sylpheed)
- Launch web browser (default firefox)
- Launch syndesis (temporary gftp)
- Launch multimedia (default oxine)
- Launch elevate (temporary wily)
- Launch vault
The 3 meters are the bottom of the screen are from left to right:
A. CPU load. This shows the utilization of your CPU. Values near (but less than) 100% are optimal. Values near 0% means that your system is underutilized. Values above 100% means that you computer is overused and the processor cannot keep up. This number is the average of the last five minutes.
B. Free disk space. This shows how much disk space you have free as GBs and as percentage. Notice that this is the free space that can be actually accessed by you. Your computer might have additional free space used by the system itself. (In other words this shows the home partition only)
C. This shows whether you have Internet connectivity or not. You should not fully trust this display. It it says that you are online, you probably are (99%). But if it says that you are offline, you may still be online and the application cannot detect it properly. Again do not depend completely on this display.

Using the Vault
The vault is an experiment that attempts to free you from your file manager. Using the vault involves two steps. First you must import the files that you want to be managed by the vault and make them with tags that show their content. Then you only access these files by using a search entry that accepts a list of tags and returns files that match.
The first screen of the vault might seem confusing but it isn't. See screenshot. You can click on any of the three rectangles to access a vault function. For the purposes of this page copy manually some files (from a terminal) into .vault/incoming. The click on the lower slice.
You will get the incoming dialog as shown in the screenshot. The list should show the files you copied before waiting for acceptance in the vault. Type any number of the tags in the entry box and then click the green tick. The file is now accepted.
Left click anywhere on the background to return to the overview. Now click the middle slice. Enter any of the tags that you used before and press Enter. You will get back your files! See screenshot.
The upper slice is the "Recent" dialog which just shows the files that you recently searched for. See screenshot. In all 4 dialogs the circular target icon can be used to launch/preview the file selected. The red x in the incoming dialog deletes the file/folder selected if you changed your mind and you do not want to import it.
Right click anywhere on the background to exit the vault application.
